Overhead

Utilities choosing to utilize existing right-of-way due to acquisition difficulty require new construction and upgrades to be performed under scheduled clearances. This additional pressure affects the contractor’s schedule and performance. Underground

Environmental and aesthetic concerns are changing the face of transmission design. New transmission is being constructed underground in attempt to mitigate these concerns. Substations

"Greenfield" substations involve in depth planning and environmental permit investigation before the construction phase can begin. Construction additions to existing substations introduce hazards due to working in energized conditions.
