The design of a 115 kV substation with 12.47 and 24.5 kV distribution voltages. Each distribution voltage has four exit circuits. The project was based on an EPC contract with San Isabel Electric Association, Inc. to perform design and construction services. Construction is being performed by Ward Electric.

Beech Ridge Wind Project 138 kV Transmission Line
Beech Ridge, WV
March 2009 – November 2009
Approximately 14 miles of 138 kV overhead transmission line in mountainous terrain to deliver power from a newly constructed wind farm. The line consists of direct embedded weathering steel structures with brace post insulators. Considerations specific to this project included the design of a self supporting switch structure and accounting for subsurface conditions that alternated between mine spoils and rock.

Great Pains Wind Farm 115kV Transmission Line

February 2008 - November 2008
3.5-mile, 115kV overhead transmission line to deliver power from newly constructed wind farm. Consists of single wood pole structures with polymer post insulators. EPC contract with Signal Wind Energy to perform design and inspection services.

Bartow 230kV Substation

March 2007 - December 2008
Four circuit addition to existing Bartow Substation to power underground 230kV addition. Consists of aluminum ring bus with steel support structures. Project also included overhead transmission tie-lines to connect to new combined cycle power plant.

Bartow - Northeast 230kV Underground Project

March 2007 - December 2008
Four circuit, 4-mile concrete encased duct bank project utilizing 5,000 kcmil XLPE cable. Duct bank consisted of sixteen, 8-inch PVC conduits. Project also encompassed various boring techniques including Jack and Bore, Microtunnel, and Horizontal Directional Drilling.
